My Therapeutic Approach

A collaborative, living process

Therapy with me is a collaborative, living process. We create it together rather than follow a fixed script. The work unfolds at your pace and is shaped by what feels most supportive and alive in each moment. At the heart of my practice is the belief that therapy should meet you in your wholeness.

An integrative way of working

I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the quality and depth of the relationship between therapist and client. This ensures effective therapy and can facilitate meaningful change. I am not a blank canvas or silent observer and so can be authentically with and alongside you as we genuinely work together through your process of change. I integrate creativity and play as well as the conventional ideas you may have about therapy. My integrative approach draws on ideas from Internal Family Systems (IFS), which invites curiosity about the many “parts” within us. These include those that protect, those that carry pain, and those that hold creativity, strength, and vitality.
Through this lens, therapy becomes a space to listen inwardly and reconnect with what feels most authentic.
It can also help you find steadier ground in yourself and your relationships.

Creativity in the therapy room

Living room with blue armchair, dark blue sofa, wooden coffee table, rug, floor lamps, artwork on the wall, and a radiator.

Creativity also has an important place in the space we build together. Words can take us far, but sometimes images, sensations, or gestures can express something that words can’t. We might explore through imagery, metaphor, movement, play, or even sound, depending on what helps something deeper come into view.
These creative moments can open new ways of understanding and expressing what’s going on, especially when words alone feel limiting.

Starting Therapy

I offer a free 30-minute phone consultation where we can talk through any questions and see if it feels right to work together.

If we decide to go ahead, we’ll begin with an initial session to get a sense of what’s happening in your life and what you’re looking for. From there, we can find a pace that feels right for you.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, at the same time each week. Meeting regularly helps the work deepen and gives space for something real to unfold over time.

The fee for individual psychotherapy sessions is £80 - £100 per 50 minutes.
A small number of reduced-fee spaces are sometimes available; please ask if that would be helpful.
